Designed for Portability

A proposed combination of insulation, sample identification, and transport monitoring.

How does Cryobiovault Technology works?

CryoBioVault is developing a portable cryogenic transport concept based on established vacuum-insulation principles, with additional features intended to support sample identification and transport documentation.

The goal is to bring these functions together in a compact format designed for the needs of fertility sample logistics.

How the Technology Is Designed to Work

1. Vacuum-Insulated Core

The proposed container uses a double-wall chamber with a vacuum-insulated space to reduce heat transfer from the outside environment.

The design incorporates a liquid-nitrogen-charged absorbent matrix intended to support cryogenic conditions during transport.

This technology concept is being developed for the product’s intended use and will require appropriate testing and validation.

2. Targeted Cryogenic Performance

The current design target is to support temperatures associated with cryogenic storage, around −196°C, for a transport period of up to 48 hours without external power.

Actual performance must be established through suitable testing under defined conditions. The final product specifications will state the validated operating limits and handling requirements.

3. Portable Protective Housing

The proposed outer housing is intended to protect the container during routine handling and transport while keeping the overall design compact.

Testing will need to establish its resistance to impacts, handling conditions, and other relevant transport stresses.

4. QR-Coded Identification

QR-coded identification and tamper-evident seals are planned to support sample verification and documented handovers.

These features are intended to help authorised personnel confirm that the identifying information and seal match the accompanying records.

5. Optional Temperature Logger

A temperature logger is being considered as an optional accessory.

Depending on the final configuration, it may record temperature information during transit and support the creation of transport records. Bluetooth or cellular connectivity may also be explored for transferring information to authorised users.

Why These Features Matter

Technology Intended benefit
Vacuum insulation Helps reduce heat transfer
Cryogenic cooling system Designed to support very low transport temperatures
Portable housing Intended to simplify handling and movement
QR identification and tamper-evident seal Supports sample verification and handover checks
Optional temperature logger Helps document transport conditions

Testing, Safety and Quality

Cryogenic equipment must be developed and assessed carefully because temperature control, container integrity, sample handling, and transport procedures are important.

CryoBioVault’s development pathway includes work to establish product performance, assess transport durability, and address relevant packaging and regulatory requirements.

Before clinical use, the final configuration will need appropriate validation and confirmation of the applicable regulatory and transport requirements.

The use of CryoBioVault must follow the final product instructions and the receiving facility’s approved procedures. No website description should be taken as a substitute for professional handling guidance.

Built on Established Principles. Developed for a Specific Purpose.

CryoBioVault’s approach is to adapt established cryogenic engineering principles to a more portable fertility sample transport application, while developing the supporting features needed for identification and documentation.

Our focus is to combine practical design with measurable performance and responsible product development.
